The Library Grant Program Process and Next Steps

September 7, 2007 - Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners Update - The Belmont Public Library has moved up to number 8 on the Massachusetts Public Library Construction Waiting List as of September 6, 2007. Further details are available in the September 7, 2007 press release from the MBLC.

June 6, 2007 - Town Meeting Update - The Library Trustees request for a building committee was dismissed until the fall Town meeting. Having the article dismissed may seem like a defeat, but it isn't. Because so much discussion was allowed, we actually learned how many supporters we have and how passionate they feel towards moving the library project forward. I think we are in a great position to return in the fall to ask for the building committee again. One thing is for sure – people do love their library. I would like to thank everyone who helped make phone calls, held coffees, wrote letters, wore buttons etc. You all worked very hard and it paid off.  Thank you!

We're pleased to update you on the library construction grant program run by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) and discuss next steps. Please read the attached document for details.
