Why private gifts for a public institution…Traditionally public libraries are the beneficiaries of both public and private funding.

The public funds affirm the community’s commitment to basic library services. Private funds allow the library to maintain excellence when pressure on public funds mandates an ebb in book and program budgets.

The Belmont Public Library has been the fortunate recipient of several trusts as well as a steady flow of small gifts.  The intent of the Trustees now is to consolidate these gifts in a coordinated program to assure continuing support for the Library and its many services to the community.

A gift to the Library is a lasting expression of sincere interest in the community. All contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
