Here's How it Works:

Pre-readers (ages 3 - 6)

Sign up in our book
Receive your Game Board
Color in one space for each completed activity
Complete a segment of the game board to earn the number of raffle tickets in the bin at its end!

Readers (Ages 7 & up)

Sign up in our book
Receive your Reading Log
Keep track of each hour you read
Earn one raffle ticket for every three hours read. You must show both your Book List and your Timed Reading Log to collect your tickets.

Raffle tickets will be available until 15 minutes before closing.

Prizes

Two raffle winners from each age group will be drawn every Friday from June 29th through August 17th.

Prizes are provided by the Friends of the Belmont Public Library, with generous support from Belmont Toys.

The Genre Challenge: Just for Grades 4 - 6

Read Books from 7 different categories from Fantasy to Folktales to Realistic Fiction
Write the titles and authors on the Genre Challenge Bookmark
Complete the challenge and return to the Children's Room by August 17th to earn an invite to:

Tuesday Noon Movies Come see animated versions of favorite picture books. Bring lunch!
Wednesdays at 2 p.m. These exciting programs are perfect for school-aged children
Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Mostly music programs, Thursday mornings are most popular with preschoolers through early elementary school.

		July 5 Pop-Up Book Day Our exciting collection of pop-up books makes a rare appearance.
July 10 Is your Mama a A Llama? Changes Changes, Happy Birthday Moon, Canary & Cat, Chrysanthemum, Monty	July 11 Vic and Sticks Harmonica,kazoo,antique washboard, and suitcase percussion. Unique songs are performed with recycled rhythm beats.	July 12 Charlie Hope All the way from Seattle, WA, this award winning children's singer will perform both traditional favorites and original songs.

July 17 Pete's a Pizza, I Love You Like Crazy Cakes, Three Cheers for Catherine the Great!, Picture for Harold's Room, Corduroy	July 18 Mike Bent's AbraKidabra Amazing magic, big laughs, and hilarious surprises.	July 19 The Dahlias Come sing and dance with a group of Music Together teachers who have formed their own band!
July 24 All the Colors of the Earth, The Foolish Frog, Over in the Meadow, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Rosie's Walk, Little Red Hen, Petunia	July 25 Yoga Exercise your mind and move your body with a teacher from My First Yoga.	July 26 Rolie Polie Guacamole Brooklyn's hippest kiddie band brings their high-energy show to Belmont. Nutritious food never sounded so good!
July 31 Goodnight Gorilla, Picnic, Napping House, Mike Mulligan, Curious George	August 1 PuppeTree Vermont's PuppeTree gives a fresh new twist to the well-loved picture book Caps for Sale.	August 2 Susie Magoozy, Silly Storyteller Stupendously silly stories brought to life with puppets, props, and music.
August 7 Mysterious Tadpole, Caterpillar and the Polliwog, Mouse and the Motorcycle	August 8 SoundScience Fun An interactive performance designed to explore the science of sound through the magic of music.	August 9 Music and Movement with Rubi To accommodate everyone at this Belmont favorite, please choose to attend either the 9:30 a.m or 10:30 a.m program.
August 14 Yo! Yes?, Here Comes the Cat, Island of the Skog, Nutshell Kids, Where the Wild Things Are	August 15 Kidstock! Winchester's KidStock! Creative Theater will present Max and Suzy, an original theatrical performance.	August 16 Storytime Stories, songs, and a craft with our own librarians.
