Summer Reading Information

Preschool - Grade 6

Registration begins June 16, 2014

Read for a chance to win a book!

    Here's How it Works:

Pre-readers (ages 3 - First Grade)

  • Sign up in our book.
  • Receive a weekly Bingo sheet full of challenges and activities. New Bingo sheets will only be given out once a week.
  • Color in one space on your Bingo sheet for each completed activity.
  • One completed Bingo earns you a sticker (one BINGO per sheet).
  • Four completed Bingos earn you a book of your own (one book per child).
  • See Bingo sheet for complete details.
  • Earn a stamp for visiting the library.
  • BINGO sheets for any week must be returned before the end of Summer Reading on Friday, August 15, 2014 in order to receive a prize.

Readers (Second Grade - Sixth Grade)

  • Sign up in our book.
  • Pick up the materials to help you set a reading goal.
  • Keep track of your reading.
  • Earn stickers for reading and visiting the library.
  • Win a book of your own when you reach your reading goal! (One book per child).
  • All prizes must be claimed before the end of Summer Reading on Friday, August 15, 2014.

The Genre Challenge: Just for Grades 4 - 6

  •  Read Books from 7 different categories from Fantasy to Folktales to Realistic Fiction
  • Write the titles and authors on the Genre Challenge Bookmark
  • Complete the challenge and return to the Children's Room by August 16 to earn an invite to:




Weekly Events, beginning July 1st.


  • Tuesday Noon Movies Come see animated versions of favorite picture books. Bring lunch!
  • Wednesdays at 2 p.m. These exciting programs are perfect for school-aged children
  • Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Thursday mornings are most popular with preschoolers through early elementary school.

All programs are funded by the Jane Gray Dustan Trust.
