One Book One Belmont -- Jason Russell House Tour

jasonrussellhouseOne of the Revolutionary War’s first battles was fought just minutes from Belmont at the home of Jason Russell. Join us on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. for a special tour for families with children ages 8 and up of the Jason Russell House led by Daniel Leclerc and Doris Birmingham. Reigstration is required. Space is very limited. Priority will be given to Belmont residents. To register for this program, please call the Children’s Room at 617-993-2880.



Meet Author Illustrator Jef Czekaj


Writing Rocks! Jef tells why. Join us on Tuesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. for a morning of music, video, and of course, READING! Author, illustrator, cartoonist, and musician Jef Czekaj (pronounced “check-eye”) will demystify the creative process by demonstrating how a book is made.  His dynamic presentation will include readings of Cat Secrets and Hip and Hop Don’t Stop. This program is recommended for school age children.



Spring Break Performance -- The Wizard of Oz

tinmanThe Belmont Public Library is turning into Oz! The Hampstead Stage Company will bring Dorothy, Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch of the West, and all of your other favorite characters from The Wizard of Oz to our library for a performance of L. Frank Baum’s classic on Friday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m in the Assembly Room.
